Imagine opening a drawer and discovering an old mobile phone that has long since been forgotten. Or a broken electric chainsaw that has been sitting unused on a basement shelf for years. These dusty appliances are more than just e-waste - they are valuable resources waiting to be reused or recycled. This is where SENS eRecycling comes into play.
For over 30 years, the SENS Foundation has been committed to the sustainable recycling of electrical and electronic appliances in Switzerland. As a non-profit organisation, it organises the environmentally friendly disposal of household appliances, lamps, photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, e-cigarettes and vehicle and industrial batteries.
But how does it actually work?
When you buy a new electrical appliance, you pay an advance recycling fee (ARF). This contribution ensures that you can return your used appliances free of charge to the numerous SENS collection points or directly to the retailer. This ensures that valuable raw materials remain in the cycle and environmentally harmful materials are disposed of properly.
SENS eRecycling is not resting on its laurels. Innovative projects such as the ‘Circular Platform’ promote the repair and reuse of electrical appliances in order to extend the service life of products and protect the environment.
Our role
